Abstract:This maturity group V soyabean line (PI592393), released in 1995 for its resistance to Phytophthora sojae and Heterodera glycines races 3 and 14, was selected in the F5 generation of the cross Bedford √ó L62-904, where L62-904 is derived from the cross Harosoy √ó PI91160. PI91160 is the donor of the gene Rps5, which confers resistance to P. sojae races 1 to 5, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14 and 25. D93-8664 is similar to its recurrent parent Bedford for most traits, In a replicated yield trial on clay soil at Stoneville, Mississippi in 1994, D93-8664 yielded 2805 kg/ha, not significantly different from that of Bedford.
