Abstract:Franklin originated as an F5 line selected from the cross L12 X Custer and is in maturity group IV. It is resistant to races 1 and 3 of Heterodera glycines, races 1 and 2 of Phytophthora megasperma var. sojae and to Xanthomonas phaseoli. It has purple flowers, erect pubescence which may impart resistance to Empoasca fabae, brown pods, a yellow seed coat and an imperfect black hilum
