Abstract:	CCMV infects cowpea and soybean naturally in S.E. USA. There appears to be a continual source of virus from outside these crops with little or no spread between them. Evidence is presented indicating that cowpea and soybean plants are not acting as a virus source for other plants, even though the vectors, virus and susceptible hosts are all present in a suitable environment.
