Abstract: | G93-9106 (PI593238), an F4-derived soyabean (Glycine max) line from the cross G83-559 × (G80-1515² × PI200538), was released in 1995 because of its high level of resistance to peanut root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne arenaria; Ma). It has a similar level of resistance to Ma as PI200538, the most resistant soyabean genotype identified to date, but a higher seed yield. In trials conducted at Athens and Plains, Georgia in 1994, G93-9106 yielded 39% more than PI200538 and 17% less than Bryan. G93-9106 is a determinate, maturity group VII germplasm that matures 8 days later than Bryan and 2 days later than PI200538. It is 2 cm taller and more susceptible to lodging than Bryan. G93-9106 is also resistant to M. incognita and M. javanica, Heterodera glycines races 3 and 14 and Xanthomonas campestris pv. glycines. |
