This QTL region was considered confirmed due to 1) the large number of independent studies that mapped QTL for SCN resistance to this region and 2) the presence of a segregating gene for SCN resistance in the region. The name was assigned by the Soybean Genetics Committee.
The Soybean Cyst Nematode ( SCN ) is caused by the nematode Heterodera glycines.
