This gene model has been identified by Benitez et al. (2012) as being involved in seed cadmium accumulation. Based on sequence similarity it has been annotated as a P1B-ATPase. Benitez et al. (2010) mapped a seed cadmium concentration QTL (Sd cadmium 1-1) to this region. Jegadeesan et al. (2010) used genetic segregation to map a gene (Cda1) to this region.
